why do it?
Youth living in beautiful semi-rural areas have some limited opportunities
Across the Top of the South and through South Canterbury we have a problem. Our children and youth don’t have the same access to the technology, science and art education opportunities as students in larger urban areas. A sense of isolation and higher rates of depression can make their future seem unclear.
We wanted to redress this by providing interesting workshops inspiring positive possibilities. So, we created the IDEAS Festival.
The IDEAS Festival seeks to re-engage semi-rural students with study, a career pathway and their region - now or in the future, leading to meaningful and fulfilled lives.
